WORKPLACE TRAINING
Workplace Safety Hazard Communication Training
OVERVIEW
As of December 1, 2013, OSHA requires all employees to be trained on the new Hazardous Communication Standard (HCS) for labels and Safety Data Sheets. OSHA has adopted the United Nations' Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals and made major changes to both labels and data sheets.
40 Minutes to Compliance
EVERFI has developed a course to specifically cover these workplace hazard training requirements. Our Hazardous Communication course covers the changes to Safety Data Sheets, labeling and the newly adopted Globally Harmonized System (GHS).
Course Description
This 40-minute course covers the OSHA Right-to-Know laws regarding Hazard Communications training for employees in workplaces where chemicals are present. It includes an interactive hazardous material training tutorial on how to interpret the general concepts of toxicology, label hazard rating system details and interpreting Material Safety Data Sheets. It also provides an overview of working safely with hazardous chemicals, including containment and confinement control measures and using personal protective equipment.
It explains what hazardous chemicals are classified under HCS and consistent with the new Globally Harmonized System. Additionally, our course explains how to read Safety Data Sheets and describes employee rights and responsibilities connected to hazardous material training regarding chemicals and workplace safety.
